Favorite Children's Book

Looking back on all the books I read in elementary school, there is one that stands out the most. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt was, and remains to this day, to be one of my favorite books. I read this short novel when I was in the sixth grade. When I opened up the book and read its first chapter, I was immediately swept up in the world of Winnie Foster and the Tucks. This book posed many questions, and opened up many different ways of thinking for me. It dealt with issues, like eternal life, that I had never been confronted with in the public school setting. It fascinated me how there was no right or wrong choice for Winnie Foster when it came to drinking from the Fountain of Youth. It also fascinated me how I could put myself in Winnie's place and feel the confusion she faced about her decision.
Even though it is quickly approaching the ten year mark since I was in the sixth grade, Tuck Everlasting remains one of my favorite books. I still love the story as much as I did back then.
